197? Colony Park .... Another Island Car

That's cool. Hope it's still there. I would love to see more of it.

 

I purchased a 1978 Ford LTD Country Sedan from the original owners estate about five years ago. It was a special order car. It had these options: roof rack, premium wheel covers, body side moulding, bumper over riders, third seat, and dual power seats. He did not order it with cruise, power windows or power door locks. As his mechanic told me he did not trust those items to work very long. You know what, he was right. By the time these cars were 6-8 years old those items usually crapped out and were expensive to fix. The only reason he got the power seats was because he was very tall and his wife was short.

If it were not for the dent in door done by his wife about a year before he passed away, I would not paint it as the car at this time is totally original inside and out.

 

I did look for it as I was in town, no wagon to be seen

and now it's at $4500

I wish I found the wagon this past week end. This thing has become a Wall Mart roll back, when it comes to price.

It is a Beautiful looking wagon, even though the pitures leave ALOT to the imagination. I do hope it gets saved, I'm not at all fond of the tan interiour (been there done that) but it sure does seem like a nice car.

Yup.............SOMEone who lives CLOSE should probably go look at it.

 

I tried, it was'nt to be seen where the Graigslist ad said the street should ( I looked for it Saterday camera in hand Fox), I even drove other streets in the erea.

 

Just toying with you, Fat. It would be nice, though, if members could see more of it. I'm thinking someone may just buy it if it's as nice as it looks in these pix.

 

Oh, I know that Fox....I personally am interested to see it, and it's condition. Kinda funny just to me....we have a members going everywhere to pick up wagons, even guys form over the pond yet only 90Merc has ventured to my island to find a gem.

Price went UP??

I've been watching the wagon almost every day......

The selling price went UP too $6000....I guess he's trying a reverse stagedy to sell. A few more weeks it may be back up to $15000

LMAO! Now there's a sales strategy I haven't seen too often. Maybe he thinks that people will now rush in with $4950 hoping to buy it for a deal! The hell with it....I'm holding out till it get's to $15,000!

It appears that maybe he is trying a new strategy for people that have, possibly, not seen the car advertised before, Tedy. Who knows? I would bet that if I went there and dealt on that car I could drive away for less than $4950.
I HAVE seen dealers use that sales approach. Never liked it and told me something about the dealer. There ARE people out there that will fall for this ploy.

 

Dam, if I had'nt sold my honeys 3 Celicas last nite I would ahve raised the price today!

 

call the buyers up, Tedy....tell them you just raised the price and to bring you the difference!
