    Definitely true regarding the options. There are so many variations of these old wagons that you never know what combination you might see next. Hopefully whoever got this Pontiac realizes it's pretty special with that 428 engine option. I'm assuming that engine wasn't ordered that often in the wagon especially since all the neat pictures jdwtenn posted didn't show that engine designation on the fender.

    Another 1969 factory image. Still does not show the 428 fender badge - that engine must have been a rare wagon option.

    Because Pontiac didn't automatically place the 428 badge on every one of them (Or did they. But, through the years they have gotten somehow lost or misplaced, after collision- or body work?), doesen't necessarily mean they weren't ordered that often. To order anything smaller would be unimaginable
