Just finished reading this entire thread. Congratulations on a stupendous job DrB! You are a true car guy with the perfectionist touch. Thanks so much for your comprehensive chronology of a beautiful restoration. In a word... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Updates with pics soon: Steering box Replaced upper and lower ball joints Replaced front springs (not fun) Fuel tank installed Fuel tank inner fender shield Getting there!! New fuel lines Heater core and box, with new hoses Minor setback: Had to lift engine up and remove oil pan and replace gasket (bad leak)...FIXED!!!!!! no leaks today! Will run motor and test new gasket this week. The Wagon is almost ready to go back to shop for final assembly. Then its up to me alone for the interior installation
Thanks for the new pix. The detail is just amazing...doubt there's another Country Squire around that can top this for the degree of resto. Also glad to hear you fixed the leak. Was it the pan at fault (dimpled)? Just curious.... --Hal
I think this assembly is all NOS parts at the actual Dearborn assembly plant... No, really it looks fantastic.
Doc I seen these and didn't know if you might need these or not. http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/pts/1178713682.html
