I shrunk the windshield opening a little so I could glue the windshield instead of using the stock rubber gasket. Gives it a cleaner look and reduces the chance of leaks. Also filled the cowl vent and hid the fuel filler location.
Yeah, how well does that filler work? I was considering one for my Ranchero, as well as a standard twist-off behind a fuel door. Is your wagon's floor going to have an access hatch for the tank? It would make dropping the tank for repairs or diagnosis unnecessary. And your 2-door Nova, the black with Porno Red interior is one of my favorite color combos.
The fuel filler works good. Nice thing is with this style cap you don't need to remove it. The flapper is pretty strong and seals well.
That's good to know, so next question, is your fill pipe original to the wagon? If so, your cap should fit my Ranchero.
The dash was modified to accommodate a touch screen audio system with navigation along with A/C vents and new climate controls. The original opening for the radio is quite large so there wasn't much cutting needed for the fabricated piece to fit the new audio.
A late to the forum. Looking at your projects and workmanship makes me realize how outdated I and my cars really are. Both vehicles had to take an amazing amount of time and skill. I can't resist also commenting on the blue UltraVan in the background at a car event. Another of my favorite toys. Good luck and have fun cruisin with the family.
The above pic was taken at a car show in Penticton, BC. Great show, approximately 800 cars. I have been going for about 11 years now. Fantastic venue. Dennis Gage with My Classic Car has featured it a couple of times on his show. I highly recommend it to anyone in the ares to attend. Always the latter part of June. There is always a great variety of vehicles.
I am going to jump into the fun stuff now.....paint and assembly. The under body was done in color matched bed liner material. All holes in firewall were filled and smoothed.
This is the LS6 engine that will provide plenty of power for my neede. I am using a Holley Stealth low profile intake and Billett Specialties rocker covers. They are a two piece unit with vented covers to cool the coils.
