Yes. I have bent many of them. As long as it is not kinked you will be fine. What I do is get a brake line that fits the PS pump and cut it in half. Half goes on steering box, other half goes on pump, rubber hose in the middle. Bend accordingly..
I had some issues with the Q-Jet. I took it to a guy because fuel was leaking in weird places. He told me all of the things wrong with it and I got it back still leaking after he "fixed" it. Well, I was talking with Dave and he mentioned the 670 Street Avenger. I started ogling. Browsing Amazon I came across a listing for a 670 Street Avenger Ultra Hardcore Gray for $357. That is less than their Aluminum version. Add to cart immediately. Long story short Amazon couldn't deliver after over a month. They made it possible for me to buy it elsewhere at their quoted price. http://www.amazon.com/Holley-0-86670HB-Street-Avenger-Carburetor/dp/B0069696MW/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER It is listed for that price still, so if you are interested in waiting and getting a carb for that price let me know and I will tell you more about the process. I added the carb on. Permanently added in all of my relays and other stuff in the growing rat's nest. I had to remove the AC bracket above the valve cover for the fuel line. I will figure something out later, but that is why I am only running one belt on the car currently. Now it squeaks a bit. Here is a video: http://youtu.be/BL9VSB-ItOo
Sounds good, but you have a vacuum leak. The vacuum gauge should not MOVE!!! http://youtu.be/PahPm4Z3A1M
I looked at the video again this morning. If it is boucing like that yeah, you have a leak. I noticed that the breather cap has no hose to it. You might wanna plug that up. Also make sure that if that carb has two BIG vacuum ports for disc brakes that that is plugged. That carb does look mean! If it wasnt such a pain I would order one for that price.
Thanks Dave. I have looked and sprayed and cannot find a leak. I have read that I may need to try adjusting my valves again. They say a leak will tend to be a steady lower vacuum. A fluctuating vacuum can be from valve adjustment or a cam with heavy overlap. I will try readjusting the valve las had go from there. I wish I could adjust it with it running. I need to read up on adjusting it again. Is there an easy way to find TDC quickly without removing the spark plug? Will it be TDC when the rotor is pointing at the number one spot on the distributor cap?
You can totally adjust them with the engine running. You just need the oil deflectors. I will go out to the garage here in a few and get the part number. Mr. Gasket. Like 5 bucks
Sorry man. I thought I called you. Things have been very crazy around the holidays. Merry Christmas by the way. Status: Car starts up right away. Normal vacuum range of 19in and steady. I believe I am at about 19 degrees advanced. Today I will be double checking Park vs. D1 position on the transmission to insure correct linkage hook up and then trying to hook it up.
Soo........... What are the updates? No excuse that it is cold outside, Mr. California. Its 9* here and I have wrenched on the cars. JK..
Maybe, we should have a member R.I.P. forum? Maybe, it's better to stay away from open places, in case it's the UFOs who are gobbling them all up, lately
