He mentions the damaged left rear quarter but fails to mention the big dent in the middle of the tailgate. Any car with "Dogmobile" stenciled on the side windows cannot have lived a good life. On the plus side, the car does have a "large" engine. That's a relief. I hate it when cars have small engines.
First time I've seen the white interior on a wagon. Checked out the 78 sales brochures and saw pics of the white on a coupe; but it is also listed as an option for the wagon.
From a rust point of view this car is in really nice shape. The interior looks to have been well cared for as well. I notice it has the optional gauges, too. The damage to rear would not be that bad if someone has the equipment and knowledge. To have it repaired could get expensive. The other thing, judging by where the quarter is crinkled, I would be checking the frame for true. I have a feeling it has been bent on the wheel arch. I hope not, as it would be sad to see this great wagon lost. It would be interesting to know just how many wagons had the white interior.
This interior looks inviting. It also reminds me of Magnum P.I. and I'm guessing it's due to the fact it was manufactured before the show started, And has that palm tree carpeting or rug.
I think you're right, Mike. It appears the LT quarter closed up the gap with the LT rear door. Wouldn't be surprised if the LT frame rail is compromised a bit. Wouldn't be that hard a repair though. Also seems a trailer got away from him, judging by the rear damage. Way too much money for the damage it has.
