    Hi Folks....

I know it's not really a wagon so to say.. but it's a bit about me at least and what I currently do or is not doing to be precise.. :)

Not much been going on since late July :(. First the English summer turn to English summer - in other words it rained away. When it finally became a bit dryer now in early September well then it's a bit too cold to paint to be frank - well too cold to paint outdoors.. and the garage is too small to paint in :(

Instead I been consentrating on the new garage. The slab is made and I have started with the new driveway up to the garage. It's driveway made of brick, and it's in a older type of pattern than I want to continue. First time to do that kind of work here :).

Anyways though I would entertain you guys and girls with some pics of things that happen the last year or so. Pics I haven't posted yet.. :).

OK, so what you see is the lift, the point with it is that it lifts the body where it's lifted at the Fisher plant (factory). If you look at the inner side of the rockers (on your car) you can actually see the square holes that the hooks grabbed into. Anyways the thing is that lifting it this way will put minimal stress on the body (if the rockers are OK). If anyone is interested then I can send some drawings and build instruction of the lift.. It's pretty easy to make one and it doesn't cost much - and it will make a safe lift of the body!

As you can see it's pretty easy to roll out the chassis from under the body. Then you can equally easy lower the body down to the rotisserie. Ah one more thing. Do you see is how very spacious the garage is, I love it, NOT! I don't get it why build a garage that is over full even when you park a Mini in it? To top it off they call this garage big here in the UK...

Hmm I know I promised a photoshot but things takes longer than you think -- if it wasn't for all this raining I would have had the car in top coat by now, and I could pose with the nice red color . Instead the fenders, hood, skirts, and and all kinds of small lose sheetmetal parts stand in the dining room primed and ready for the last coat of primer before topcoat. Anyways I thought it would be time with some behind the scene shots so to say, I mean it's better than nothing beside some of the pics are rather funny..

Here is one of the the early shots -- I've just done the nitromos paint removal of the whole car and I'm now doing the relatively clean small jobs of scraping sound deadner in the doors.. hehe sometimes it's handy to be small..

OK so here I'm taking a break in the panel beating process. Yep you get very dirty. It's one of the things I hate with it. I'm kind of a neat freak in that way. If don't remember totally incorrect this is just after heat shrinking things and turning on and off the acetylene torch ain't exactly making things clean -- ton of sot flying around ...

Hehe this one is to funny :). It's me and my niece and it's us cleaning the sheet metal, in the trunk -- I know this should only be one pic I mean I look like a idiot in one and my niece (Joy) looks like a idiot in the other :) but hey I'm not a photoshop expert :). Well I guess we are a bit high on white spirit, we have basically been grinding and cleaning metal all day until late in the evening :).. I'm very tired here, but hey the Caddy is at least that big that the both of us can take a nap if we want ...

Here is a few days later when nearly all wirebrushing of the body is done and nearly all cleaning of it is done too.. very happy here since I know that it will be paint the very next day or so..

Paint time , it's in a break but as you can see even with protectives you still manage to get gray eyebrows . Yep, smoking but I actually managed to quit now and I'm pretty proud over my self for that - smoke free for nearly two months now.. -- ah -- yes this is when painting the first coat of primer on the body...

Well time to sand and sand and sand.. luckily this is before starting so I'm not looking like a baker ..

OK since I can only post 20 pic here please go here for the rest of the story ...

Thanks for the update! Good pics too! I'd sure like to get some tech/build info on that lift you built. That's ingenious! I'm building a new double-wide garage with probably a garden on top that we can add a small greenhouse to, from the second floor. So going a bit higher for the lift system would be a good thing to plan for from the garage footings and ceiling height. Thanks again. :)

"CRYKY!" :slap: Dyna ALL this time I thought you were a guy! ('Bloke') :rofl2: (ESPECIALLY since you're a Buick Fan I thought 'Dyna' was a play on Buick "DynaFlow" and that a 'Gear Head' tradition of sorts...:slap: So, I beg a "Thousand Pardons!" Bloody embarassing!) But hey, you ARE an inspiration and GOOD for you getting your Niece INTO old "Iron" too!! :yahoo::bouncy::clap::yippee: Great work on quitting smoking too! Say, are you still looking to "share" that '90 Buick Wagon that was out on the East Coast?!?? Thanks for posting the pics and keep up the important preservation work on these old beasts!

Hehe no worries -- ;-) although I'm a Buick fan but my name is actually a mixing of of my fathers name Andy and not from the Dynaflow I have in my 58 Caballero :)..

Ah I got the inner fender stuff for my 90 Wagon so I'm not in need of sharing that much at the moment -- might be when I get the wagon here and know what I need so lets see in a month or so :)..

    Cheers Dyna

:drink:COOL! I'll Drink to that! Pretty neat mixing of your Father's name...BUT I DO Like the BUICK Dynaflow (as in your nice '58 too!) :yup: you're one of the coolest members we have on this forum! :tiphat: Plus, you're a wealth of information about all these GM Beasts! :bouncy:
I saw now you have your inner fender panels...let me know if you or your husband have much trouble with the Radio antenna inside those panels?? (OR, IF they are in there...I've an Oldsmobile of similar vintage that I can't seem to get at my Power Antenna to repair/replace it!:confused:
