Hey everybody, I posted on the Welcome Wagon a few weeks ago about how I've been working on a documentary about station wagons for the past year or so, and how I'm looking for family photos w/ wagons to put in the film.. Thanks to all of you who replied! I wanted to start a new thread here in the general forum to keep everyone posted on the progress of the film. My co-director and I are grad students at Wake Forest, and we've recently finished a "fine cut" of the film and will be polishing that over the summer so that it can hopefully premier sometime in the fall. Also, we're putting webisodes on our Vimeo Channel every couple of weeks to keep people interested until we're ready to actually unveil the film. These are little pieces either about characters who didn't make it into the final cut (the film is only going to be about 40 minutes long), or gives more background on people who are in the film. In addition to checking on this thread for updates, you can also sign up on our website (http://www.wagonmastersthemovie.com) to receive updates (like once a month). And if you have family photos w/ your wagon that you haven't sent me, please send them! It's not too late for them to make it into the film... Thanks.. -Sam
new webisodes ... I guess I could go ahead and put our two newest webisodes on here. The most recent features the wagons we saw at Hershey last year. Enjoy! (and let us know what you think) "The Bonny '59" http://vimeo.com/38661604 "Chocolate Wagons" http://vimeo.com/40773095
Great videos, Sam - i just wish they were longer. One suggestion -It would be nice if the interviewee's name was captioned. Love the quote on that one guy.... "Thing's a real chick magnet...it's just that chicks are 90........" Oh - and you really need to get more of that 'Dusty' guy on!!!!
Sam, when you hit the road again for your documentary, I would strongly suggest you head out west to British Columbia and visit 2 of our family members here - 'the Rev' in B.C. itself, and 'Fat Tedy' on Victoria Island. Among them, they probably have 30+ wagons.......and there's a story to each one of them. (not to mention them each being quite the characters...) Marshall
Those were great vidios:2_thumbs_up_-_anima Could you imagine, the Rev and myself on the same vidio....
Oh how I wish we had the $$ and time to make it up to BC from North Carolina! Maybe one day... And in the mean time maybe we could get some pictures and put them up on our website?
Once a magnet always a magnet. They may be 90 but like the rest of us the still think like they're 19... Great videos
