Hi, all. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Chuck and I'm a wagon fanatic. I currently own 3: '82 Granada, '89 Volvo 740 Turbo & a '91 760 Turbo. I do own other vehicles, but my wagons are my favorites.

I never even knew there was a community for us wagon lovers. I got the info on the site from a guy who posted his Cougar on foureyedpride.com I'm glad he did.

I must be an old poop, 'cause I got the reference and remember the Gong Show well.

Lets see, modifications....Let me qualify this, first by saying, I own a company called Hybrid Motorcars.
Our initial focus was putting 5.0 motors in Volvos. Being a drag racer and custom car guy at heart, it kinda got out of control. Now we're working on some of everything, conversionwise.

Modificationwise, my cars are on the backburner/planning stage. But I have done a few things.

The Granada: 3.3 I6/C4,8.8 disc brake rear w/3.55's, Sn95 front brakes.
    Fairly clean(for Michigan) driver.
Plans are an Aussie DOHC 6 with turbo and a 5 spd.

The 740 Turbo:Bought for $300 with a blown head gasket from a garage sale. Put a 5.0 in it with an AOD. Got bored and took it out. NEXXT!!!

The 760 Turbo: Bought it for the motor for the 740. Pulled the motor and looked at the car real good and discovered how clean it was. Now its awaiting a GM LSx motor swap.

    But customer cars come first.:)

Ive seen some videos of 5.0 Volvos and they rock! There was even a feature in Car and Driver about such a conversion many years ago.

Thats going to be a nice setup. :) I have have read some threads on this over at fordsix.com

This may sound silly, but is it possible to do a 5.0 swap on a FWD Volvo?

Never thought about a 5.0 in a front drive. But with the advent of Volvo doing a 4 cam V8 in its newer chassis, should'nt be too hard to do a V8 in an 850.....HMMMMM! I know where theres an 850 wagon with a 5spd cheap.

OK!!!! You guys are a bad influence, I'm gonna stay in trouble hangin' around here:dancing: . I already love this place(y) .

We need two things on this site:

    1) A Virtual Idea Wall to throw more ideas at and see which ones stick.

    2) Somebody to clean up all the ones that didn't work.

Since it's getting harder to restore these cars, find parts, get replacements or sometimes even insurance for cars with fibreglass replacement panels, we have to invent, work-around, or reproduce methods for a DIY solution. It's a great place to kick the bucket and see what falls out. Says a lot about the Wagonmaster and Charter members.

If you're looking for an Aussie engine there's a fellow on the fordsix.com forums that usually has a couple for sale. His userid is Ozhemi.
He had a couple of I6 EFI's recently.
