My 'life of crime' started at the age of 19 one day when I was running late to meet some friends for a movie. I was N/B on Robertson Bl. in West LA when I failed to stop for a pedestrian just starting to step off the curb. A motorcycle cop pulled me over - I deserved the ticket. He ran my plates and discovered I had an outstanding warrant for my arrest - on an unpaid parking ticket. (I worked up near UCLA, a big parking problem. Teenagers in the area were known to take parking tickets off of cars and throw them away....) Didn't get put in a squad car. The motorcycle cop just had me follow him back to the station. Behind bars I went. I could have bailed myself out if I had $10 more cash on me. Alas, I did not. Very embarassing to have to call your folks to bail you out. They thought it was very funny.......spend about 2 hours behind bars.
