Hi all, I'm new here but not new to cars. I currently have a '69 Camaro Z/28 and with a kid or two coming I need a 'family hauler'. My first car was a '65 El Camino and I am really in love with the '65 wagons. If anyone sees a 9-pass '65 Chevelle Wagon around for sale or even pics of nice ones, please let me know! Thx, heynow14
Welcome, Heynow14... Good luck in your search. These mid 60's Chevelles are starting get a bit pricey. The 2-doors have been very expensive for quite a while, but now I'm seeing the 4-doors creep up in value quite a bit. I've also rarely seen the 9-passenger version noted in ads. One possibility is buying a third seat setup used and converting a 6-passenger. Keeps your options open.
, and like Krash said, keep your options open. Nice you have a feel for one pitcular wagon but don't get tunnel vistion. You may find just what your after but wagons are getting harder to find. My dream is to get anothe 80 Colony.....I've had that dream since 97, I just have'nt found a Colony perioud!
Welcome!!! I too wanted a 66 or 67 Pontiac Tempest Wagon. Prices for a good driver were out of my range. While searching Ebay for Pontiac Wagon I cam across a 9 passenger Catalina wagon. Who knew. P.S. I did see a 4 door Chevelle Wagon last week. BASKET CASE!!! Needed total restore. 3500$.....not worth 100$
Adding 3rd row seat to '65 Chevelle Wagon I'd be totally into converting a 6-pass into a 9-pass but I understand that the fuel tank is very different and nearly impossible to find. If anyone knows about or has done this conversion/add-on please let me know about it! Thanks, NM
I was taken back by where the fuel tank was on the Catalina. Is is on the drivers side in the quarter panel. Not sure how many gallons it is as I have been filling it with gas cans while I wait for my wheel hub. I do have to drop the tank to replace the fuel line from the sending unit to the hard line. I can take a pick for you. Not sure what it will do for YOUR wagon, but might help. Dave Where are you in USA and I will keep my EYES open.
