That thing sure has been around the block. Apparently the original dealer came down from their original $10k asking price.
That price looks more like it. Very nice looking example. I had a 1980 4 door and loved it. Mine had this (much more attractive IMO) steering wheel. http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb454/carzilla/1980 Ford Fairmont Futura/interior.jpg Did the CA cars get the chunky steering wheel or was it an option package. Have seen both on 1980s. mike
Yeah, I also remember the insane asking price, so it only took maybe 2 years(?) for the price to come down to the real world? Very nice wagon though!
You got that wheel with the Interior Decor Group. Same wheel show up in the Country Squires. '79 Fairmont brochure here: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/ford/79fairmont/79fairmont.html Lots of interior options on these....
Someone spent some effort detailing that engine compartment, including polishing the aluminum air cleaner. It looks really nice.
hey, hey, hey, what? That's how real estate worked here, in SoCal, about six years back. The closer it got to being affordable, the farther away it got... Not a bad looking wagon. I like how the shot looking into the cargo area from the open hatchback, looks "warm". Probably just that dome light.
