That was probably me. Nice overall. A pity about the 390, but a nice car nonetheless.I've been learning about how tough it is to switch from a non-AC car to an AC equipped car. IT would be easier to swap motors! Phil

Looks pretty nice. Would be nice if the listing had decent pics.

The listing shows the color on this car as "burnt orange". In over 30 years of dealing with these cars I've never seen this color on a '69-'70 Ford. I don't have a color & trim book for '69, so I can't say whether it's an original color. Attractive, though.

What concerns me is the rust under the gas filler. Like roaches, it's often the case that where there's one rust spot, there are others. This is an unusual place for rust. Many years ago there was a '69 CS in Maryland with rust in the same place, but I can't recall ever seeing any other big Ford with rust there (unless it crept all the way up the quarter panel).

Note the spoke wheel covers are not original. They look like middle-to-late '70s covers with a '68-'69 wheel cover emblem. Not badly done at all. I wanted to do something like this for my '76 Montego, substituting the Lincoln-Mercury emblem, but the centers and emblems of the nice set of wire wheel covers I bought were not removable.

Also, I don't see speaker grilles in the doors. I believe front door speakers were included with all stereo systems in the '69 big Ford and the rear speakers (which this car does have) were extra. Note: NOS antennas for this model have become expensive.

Looks like maybe a $4K to $6K car assuming there's absolutely no more rust than described. There are a couple of issues that somewhat cancel out the value brought by the low mileage. I'm guessing the reserve is higher.

    Burnt Orange

The parts car I bought from Tennessee is virtually identical to this car including the paint color of "Burnt Orange Metallic". My parts car came with Lt Nugget Gold interior vinyl, black dash and black carpeting. While the car looks red in these pics, when I buffed the hood, the reddish-copper color came out.

This was also a "Brougham" version. Had intermittent wipers.
Too far rotted to save, but a good parts car.

You are right, the AM/FM stereo ($61.40) came with front door speakers. Dual rear speakers might have also come with the Brougham option but were an added cost ($25.91) for the other CS wagons.

Yes, original factory Ford color for 1969 called "copper flame." Rare color, I think, but factory correct so far as I know. Here are a couple more beautiful examples.

That's it. Also known as Indian Fire on some 1969 Ford models. Very sharp color especially when paired with white vinyl roof or interior. (Why can't we have colors like that today? )

I'd never seen this color on a '69 big Ford before. This sheet is for the Mustang, Fairlane, & Falcon, but I can see some of the Maverick names for the colors. Apparently this is the same as Maverick's "Original Cinnamon".

Judging by these, my '70 CS has what must be the strangest color name Ford ever used: "Red". What a ridiculous name. Now you've got me thinking; I've got to dig out my color sheets and my color & trim book, check my car's color code, and see if it was used on a Maverick with a psychedelic name.

Whatever name you use for the color on this car, I like it.

Right! Couldn't find the thread about your search for the '69.

It WOULD be nice to have a car that's already been converted over to R134a. Especially in Canada, where R12 is banned. Along with buying alcohol at the corner store, pesticides, etc. etc. etc.

Switching 69 CS from non-AC to AC

Well, for starters, the firewall openings are different for each of the vehicle types. That means I will have to swap (cut) the firewall opening from the parts car with my car. Then there are all the vacuum hoses, wiring and basic controls. I took a lot of pictures because there was just too much to remember. I'll post some pics later in my own restoration thread. Below is my 69 non-AC car showing the firewall pair of openings (just above and to the left of the valve cover). The large circular opening is for the blower fan. Phil

I love that Burnt Orange color. If I were in the market, I'd be checking this one out. The rust would make me nervous though...
