This is a fine-looking automobile. Same owner for 31 years. Bidding up to $19k and reserve not met. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Other-...a38fe1c74&item=181344803956&pt=US_Cars_Trucks The only thing that seems odd - does that headliner look original to you? And a strange colour combo - tan/brown interior with lime green/green exterior? Car said by owner to have been in the movie "The In Crowd". Well, that should be worth at least another $500.
That is darn sharp! Don't know enough about these to comment on the headliner but as for paint interior colours, you could order just about any combo you wanted back then. We have seen several wagons over the years that boggled the mind with even stranger factory colour combos.
Screech!!!!!! This is the '59 Ford Rev will WANT to see.....not that lifted 4wd mess posted earlier! Fine looking Ford!
Nice wagon..... Interesting that it has the ribbed chrome trim on the quarter panel behind the wheel opening that was standard on the Fairlane 500 / Country Sedan models. Probably put on as an option or maybe by the dealer. Also could have been done during the restoration. For a low-line Ranch Wagon, it's got a lot of equipment.
Nice wagon, but I think owner's a bit optimistic on the value......... It's a '59 after all - not the most popular year for Fords. I think I would have been very happy with anything over $20k.......
Back on eBay for another 7 days. Bidding already at $24,699. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Other-...a3981e259&item=181353439833&pt=US_Cars_Trucks I've noticed something interesting about eBay auctions. Very often, the second time around, a car doesn't get bid as high as it did the first time. Other times the car sells once the owner has realized he's not going to get what he was initially expecting and lowers the reserve for the second auction. Lesson: take the money and run. Don't get greedy.
Bidding on the second auction topped out at $25,400, compared to a top bid of $25,659 on the first eBay auction for this car. An illustration of my observation that the top bid received during a second eBay auction often does not exceed the top bid received during the first auction. Take the money and run! (This was also the title of a Crosby and Nash (no Stephen Stills or Neil Young) song from 1975. I'm going to be humming this song for the rest of the afternoon, now that I've thought of it): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LKC6qZiTDE
