It almost looks like someone just added a cheap camper shell.

Yup. Appears cheaply done. Top extension and liftgate are probably Fiberglas.

Those lift gate hinges look to be standard Volvo 145/245 hinges, and the rest has a 'home made' look to it. I don't see the G.M. styling department doing a presentation with something that far off production quality.

I would expect a roofline more slanted out back, possibly using a Chevette hatch like this '78 "Comstock Sport Wagon" from Formal Coach.

but then again the '79-'85 Eldorado was very crisp...reminds me to see if I can find one cheap around here and drop a 455 over the FWD trans...

I'm on the fence with this one....guess I'd have to see it in person to decide.

I like how the seller IMO apears to be hiding a worn our drivers seat. looks like a rip at the edge of the picture. And some thing just does not look rite about the seat back, side of the open drivers door.

    ......And now I know.....................................

Quote:I accidentally seen this car in person on my travels for work. It was in Chicago Heights, IL.
I stopped to look at a truck for sale at some Spiritual Healer business.
The truck wasn't what I wanted and was a good 50 footer at 55 mph.

Anyway someone was reassmebling this car by the building and this Guy "Ricky" was telling me he found this proto type Caddy in WI next to a barn.
I ask if h minded if I took a look at it.
He said go ahead. his cousin was putting it back together.

    It's not pretty.
The new paint job is horrible.
    Runs everywhere. Large runs.

I asked if someone locally painted it and said a friend did it in his garage.
That was as I was watching the cousin scrape all of the moldings with a razor blade and steel wool.

He said that he has a cash price right now to drive away with it.
I wasn't even close to being interested but he told me $15,000 right now.

    I did declined.
That car is a piece of crap and a poor conversion of some sort.

He kept telling me Fisher did it as a factory conversion.
    I don't believe it.

The roof where they spliced it in at the pillars is real rough looking etc.
    The moldings are all damaged.
The pictures make it look way better than it really is.
