You've got almost as many computers around your place as I do (not really :)). You should be a junior Wiz any time now. Is that new PC out of it's box yet? I've got a toll-free number that rings directly to my desk at work labelled "SilverFox hotline". Any time you want to compare notes on PC setups you know where I am.

Yeah, yeah....I have the number here some place. I need someone else to help though. I need to call you and get the stuff I need to install from you....AFTER I find someone to do the actual work. I was thinking I could be on the phone to you during set-up when I find someone.
Hey....you should feel honored!......No one has a SilverFox hotline but YOU!:yup:(y)

I'm betting you and I on the phone together can get it all set up in no time at all. I sit at 4 monitors and can strap on a headset to work and yak at the same time so don't you dare think that you'll interrupt my day or even slow me down a little bit by calling. I am indeed honoured to have a 'Fox hotline. I do wish it was a big red phone though. [IMG]

:biglaugh:... you mean it's NOT a big red phone???
There used to be a SilverFox hotline direct from the White House. Funny....about 3&1/2 years ago, or so, it was mysteriously disconnected for some reason.:biglaugh:

Thanks again for your gracious offer, Wiz. There are other, more physical, problems that may be involved, though. We'll see. Honestly....I DO want to get it set up SOON, as you know :D.
Frankly, I DO worry about intruding on your work day. But, if the time ever comes, I will warn you in advance before defering to your kind offer.

What's a birthday without family helping to celebrate? A wheel polishing adventure that only a car guy could love.

Happy Birthday - hope it was a great one. Sounds like it from your posts.

The Mrs and I took the wagon on a run over to a wrecking yard in the next town over yesterday morning. It's a small yard but it's the only one within easy driving distance that's still Pick 'N Pull. We were after a set of leather seats for my Grand Marquis but no luck. It was pretty unlikely but we always have fun roaming the yard anyway. I may have to agree to go visit The Mrs' grandparents up in Owen Sound at some point :49: to hunt further. There are a surprising number of wrecking yards up there and even more retirees. There's gotta be a decent set of white leather seats up there somewhere.

After roaming from place to place so The Mrs could hunt for just the right plants to give to the Mom's on Mothers Day I came back and started polishing my rims again. It turned out that I had just applied a coat of metal polish when the Mother-in-Law stopped by on Thursday and I didn't wipe it off. The polish had made the area it was applied to a hazy mess by sitting there so long. I had to polish that center cap 4 times to get it back to normal. :slap: Nonetheless all of the wheels are polished now and installed on the wagon. Since it had a fresh set of shiny wheels on it we took it out on another plant run afterwards. It felt good to be driving my wagon again. Even with all of the rattles and squeaks associated with the trim panels that I haven't reinstalled yet.

Wizzard: In your wrecking yard travels did you by any chance notice any Fords with shoulder belts that mount to the roof? Where are these yards that have the old cars? I really need seat belts for the 'Bird, and I'm having no luck finding them anywhere. Are these yards, by any chance up HWY 6 on the way to owen Sound?

Those wheels look great on the wagon. And the wagon looks great as well.

I have a set in stock for the Safari but have a fondness for the wires that are on it so the 5 spokes are destined for the S10 Blazer. Not nearly as shiny as yours are, I need to address that first, then they'll make the little black box look a tad more like a spousal hot rod. What polish did you have the most success with? I've been a fan of Mother's and particularly today

Mothers was the first that I tried and then I bought a tin of NevrDull. Neither really did it for me. Ultimately I went back to my old standby of Blue Magic Polish Cream. It works extremely well and it leaves a coating on the metal to give it some extra resistance to water. The labour intensive part here was the wet sanding to get the aluminium back down to a surface that I could work with.

So far the only yard we've been to is the one in Cambridge. With one or two exceptions, theres nothing there older than early 90's. We pass two on Hwy6 on our way up to Owen Sound but we've never stopped at them. Apparently there are several more in the area surrounding Owen Sound. The Mrs' uncle owns a yard up there but I've yet to visit it either.

The Mrs and I took the wagon on the weekend when she went hunting for the perfect plants to give to our respective mothers on Mom's Day. Needless to say, that involved numerous stops all over several towns to find just the right ones. I spent a lot of time sitting in the car waiting as I can't tell one plant from another.

While I was sitting in there it really began to bother me that the dash emblem in the wagon was so worn.

I seem to recall reading somewhere in the forum about how easy it is to address this kind of stuff with a silver Sharpie. Sooner or later one of our stops took me within a short distance of a Staples store and I popped in to pick me up a Sharpie (a two pack actually). Our next stop was a Home Depot and I sat in the parking lot giving the Sharpie's a try. Ultimately I waited until I got home to do it up right but I was really quite impressed with how well it worked.

Once I finished up I discovered that I was still itching to do a little more. My speaker panels in the door badly need work but I didn't see the point in doing those until I've recoloured the plastic. I wound up giving my steering wheel a little extra flair before I forced myself to put the marker away. Now if only I could find markers in metallic blue and red.
