My honey and I were putting up the X-Mas litres just as it was getting dark and then I noticed a fowl smell. I turned around to see the house across from us surounded in smoke! Told honey "911 NOW" to then notice the thick black smoke was from the house next to them coming out of the chiney and the wierd breeze was blowing it down. I headed over to then hear panic screems so I just opened the door and barged rite in. Both are retired and clearly were in shock/panic mode. I grabed Fay by the shoulders and had to screem in her face that "she was more important than the house, GET OUT NOW!", I then by the shoulder helper her husband out the door. In shock on the front lawn they still wanted to get back inside because..."it's our home". I didn't let them. Fire Department arived fast, real fast. I don't yet know the extent of the damage but did learn they JUST had there old wood stove replaced with a new one, and a new chimney liner.....some one screwd up real good by the sounds of things.

I only got as couple pics, then the camera went dead.

Blurry but, our X-Mas lites, fire trucks and you can see the 2 dormers on there house. The chimney is just to the rite on the steep roof.

Those little reflections up high in the dark are 5 firemen on the roof.

Sometimes the smoke and water (from the fire hoses) damage does more harm than the actual burn. Sounds like the case here. Too bad.

There are at home and last nite I saw the brother and there sons trucks parked out front. Brother lives up island and the son IMO came home to help, he has been working up island for a few months. Living room lites were not on though so that makes me think it may be a bit messy in there.... I've never seen the house at nite with no lites on in the living room, I miss seeing there X-Mas tree in the window and the great job they did on exteriour X-Mas lites.

In all the comotion the other nite... Mike came over late and thanked me, but I never thought to ask about damage. All and all it's clear there family and friends have been over helping etc.
