Wow, what an amazing survivor. There doesn't appear to be a scratch on it. I wonder what the reserve is. Too bad I don't have the money for it or a place to put it. Exceptional AMC.
I don't know what's so special about the 304, nor is it a big block but I'm still impressed. Even the unleaded fuel required sticker is still above the fuel door. Very nice. It must have only been out on cloudy days and never in the rain. That paint looks great. The stickers on the door is the only things that look worn.
Everyone should take such detailed pics when selling. Mighty fine Matador, if only there was money to spend...
I checked this car very close, and found the entire engine is repainted blue not the correct teal-looking green, so I assume it was removed for some reason?. Noted on the ebay pics the drives side stricker stud has a extra large fender washer behind the stricker stud( indicating a crack in sheet metal from misaligned door that cracks if left out of adjustment). Also noted the piece of chrome on each rear 1/4 panel that is not offered as a option ( covering something?) Hood ornament was not offered on 77 plus this one is for the 74 Ambassador a one-year-run.? And the lower chrome below each door is pulled away from body where door meets front fender. Appears undercoating was added recent covering all the undercarriage less exhaust system. (tie rod ends etc). Ive owned 8 or so Matador from 71 -78 Just look carefully at ebay stuff.
Cadi, I have to agree. Those moldings behind each rear wheel don't even "LOOK" right. And you are correct. They were Never offered. I think this car has been "dressed-up" to look better than it actually is. And in my opinion, not even worth close to what it's presently at with not meeting reserve. Although, GREAT PHOTOS!! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
Holy cow, Cadi, you certainly know your Matadors. Good spotting; the thing looked exceptionally original and pristine to me. My bad, for sure. By the way, what's up with those black rubber things on the lower corners of the bumpers?
SNOOTER; Those black things are just bumpers guards; and I failed to mention as I didnt want to pick too hard. The pass side front one is pulled away from bumper near front edge as it goes around .. I had to pull mine off and remove rust that was behind it causing the buldging as shown in pic.
In this area his lot is Lash auto a friend who sells cars calls it Trash by Lash he has way to many low mileage original mileage cars to all be 100 % original i called about a Fury wagon he had it had items on car that were not on the vin plate i asked him about them and he hung up on me.
Airboat: Since your email I rechecked under the car,( on ebay listing) and noticed the exhaust system has been spray painted silver ( see tailpipe) up to the crossmember then stopped. Then I noticed the overspray on the altenator belt is blue, so the engine was maybe not removed but rather again taped off and repainted while in the car.?
