Thanks all! This seems like an awesome community and I'm looking forward to a long membership with all of you. I belong to many forums and this is in the top 3 as far as warm welcomes and willingness of fellow members to help out. I can't wait til I have a beast of my own to show all of you.

I've always been a huge car fan and all the cars I love are too damn expensive for me right now. Wagons seem to be pretty reasonable still and I feel now is a great time to grab one. That is if I can find one in Western NY that's not rotten to the ground...

Oh, and to Stormin' Normin- I really want your fox body wagon. It's absolutely perfect for a 427 inch Windsor swap:)

Wow. I'd love an old boat to cruise around in. Problem is I love power and it'll be hard to get a 5500# pound car up and moving like my Mustangs do. A really really clean fox station wagon, like you've shown above, would be a really nice, lighter alternative wouldn't it? Throw my supercharged Mustang drivetrain in it. HMMMMMM. Dammit. You guys already got me started...

Anything that fits any Mustang will fit into a Fairmont/Zephyr, even a 429! No headers on the 429 though.:rofl2: Unless you've a really bigger hammer.:biglaugh:

The little SVO 4-banger turbo can be made to run up to almost 500 HP, but you'd be using a really low gear set to get Off-the-line-Punch. Nice weight saving though.

Once I get the Mustang I-4 powertrain in, I'll get a new nameplate for mine - the FairStang. If I get into it, and HandyAndy talks me into more than 300 HP, then I'll call it the UnFairStang, for the rice-rockets in the rearwiew mirror!:biglaugh:

Can't really use that much power here. First of all, all the main streets have automated speed cameras, and the fines run into the hundreds, plus loss of points (insurance discounts) and its all flat prairie. Once you get on the Highways, the Federal police kick in with their speed laws and fines.

And fuel here is up and down like a toilet seat (gentlemen robbers do lift the seat:evilsmile: - Oil companies). So its kind of futile.

A quick burst to 35 MPH is about all you can get away with here. You'd never get out of first gear with 300 HP! :banghead3:

I figure the UnFairStang nameplate would do that. Maybe UnFairStang 210 HPZ? The SVO I-4 was 210 HP stock. Nice start eh?
