Tedy, I'm surprised you haven't done the window cranks already. They are as close as your nearest Canadian Tire, in the HELP section. They have both styles, and are a perfect match for the factory units, only better made!

Must be a back east thing..... nothing like that in my Crappy Tire, was there this AM. Looked at me like I was from another planet when I asked and I even had the old part in my hand! Lots of generic plastic crap though....

I'll stick with the Rev......he's only charging me $100 plus shipping fee...plus finders fee... plus import fee.... plus stocking fee.....but no taxes:confused:

You don't need tacks to install window cranks !:biglaugh:
And just go barefoot. You don't need no stinking stockings either.:D

Tedy, if those are the same cranks as my 79 used, they were at Canadian Tire as of less than a year ago, anyway. Since Chloe died, I haven't had to think about cranks. Aside from the delightful cranks we have around here, that is. There is no clip to hold the Ford cranks on, just the set screw in the middle of the crank pivot. Remove it and the thing pulls right off. You may have to wiggle it, since they do seem to pressure fit themselves after a number of years. I'll go into Canadian Tire tomorrow and see if they still have them. The metal on the ones I bought were nicely finished, with good chrome, and the handles were just the right degree of off white to match the ones in the car. They looked like they were made by the same supplier as Ford had used, but possibly finished even better.

I got a responce back from the seller of the 71 here in Victoria....

    http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23275

He said he went through his 1971 books and here is no such "wha the heck is that?" in the taigate as a option....he wonders if, "if" it is for a automatic window washer, if that option may have started in 72. I guess my next step will be to remove the interiour panel and see what it is.......
