I love that 58 Chevy Wagon! Was the 58 called A nomad by any chance?

I just mounted my fuel pressure gauge for my nitrous system under the 6" cowl hood the other day.Had the car painted back in November & I'm still putting it back together little bits at a time.

It looks like it's a really solid rare old wagon wagon. We used to call that color "temporary blue".

    Well....
I put another 200+ miles on the HHR yesterday doing some work, and another 200+ today. I purchased it last November with 30.5k on it. I've got 56.3 now.....

Lono, those are going to look great on the 58!

I like the "survivor" look a lot, but I also think it would look great in Teal & White.

But those Fentons would look awesome under a black or charcoal gray body...

Well this may be quite tame compared to what you guys are all doing. But I am just starting to get into this car after owning it for only a few weeks.
I did a little playing with it this past weekend. Nothing really big, but I liked the change. It is just so hot here in Phoenix,Az., it is hard to get into doing any work on it right now. But I wanting to give it a cleaning but before I did. I needed to get rid of the black rubber strip that went down the bottom of the car and the bent up chrome wheel well moldings. I do not like wheel well moldings anyways. I like the cleaner look. I also have always like the looks of the wheels well openings on the 68-69 chevelle, and that is what this car has, basiclly. Chrome moldings hide that on these wells.

    Here is what I had...

This is what I have now.

The rubber strip took some paint with it, but I expected that. I am going to D/A the heck out of the car soon and start getting it ready for paint.

I cleaned up under the hood a little. Looks much better.
    Again what I had...

Now it is cleans up a little.

I will start doing some real up dates when I start getting really into it.
    Thanks for looking.

well decided to check out the wagon after our road trip and it seems as though 3 out of 4 falken tires have devoleped tread separations and need to be replaced ,hopefully falken will cover it as the tread is around 90 % of original

Spent a good part of the day today and 3 hours last afternoon chasing down shorts and lighting problems.

Rebuilt the distributor as the vacuum advance was totally screwed. New pot, cap, points and rebuilt advance mechanism yielded a tractable and very drivable machine!

Also spent a lot of time replacing light bulbs. Not everything works.... no dash lights and no turn signals yet. But fresh bulbs are now present. (Yes, I cleaned the contacts but have yet to find a burned out fuse)
Oh and a vacuum powered windshield wiper motor... probably not the best thing to have in Oregon! :naughty:
