    The 3 series has always felt small for me, wagons included. A nice 5 series wagon would do the trick.

    I agree, Karl. Although the 3-series would be a great handling wagon, if I was spending BMW money for a used BMW wagon, I'd step up to the 5-series, even though I'd be giving up a bit of gas money as well.

    Had an Audi A6 Avant for a while - same premise there. I would say though, don't get one of these unless you can afford the (expensive) repairs or are knowledgeable to do it yourself. I speak from experience.
