first day. looking to buy any year fwd honda civic wagovan and a 1986 awd wagovan. tough to find. most ads are years old, most offerings are rusted out, and most cost $1000/$1500 travel expenses to get back to ohio.:Welcome:

    Good luck with your search.

When you are looking for something that specific that's almost 30 years old, the numbers are against you. We don't have any special resources that you wouldn't already have access to. I do have some suggestions for you though.

    - Not sure on the areas where those Honda wagons are most popular, but I have seen quite a few down in southern California when I lived there.
    - Don't be afraid to travel to get what you want. If you find something that's been in daily use, with a bit of planning you can drive it home. Consider it an adventure.
    - If you find something not in your area, consider hiring an inspector. I'd recommend this referral service:
    http://www.jewelorjalopy.com
You find an inspector on their list in the area where the vehicle is, then contact the inspector yourself and arrange an inspection.
    - We are also in the process here on the SWF of setting up a vehicle inspection thread, where members list info about an inspection they may need. Unfortunately, we won't be able to cover all areas.

P.S: My wagon (pictured below), came from Wisconsin, and was inspected and test-driven by one of our members before I bought it.

I got and answered your email. Did you get it, do I need to re-post it here on forum?
