Spent a good part of yesterday at the Barrett Jackson auction. It was big and crowded. I kept my hands down and my money in my pocket. Not that many wagons but I took a few pictures of some of the more interesting stuff that was there. First was a 1965 Ford Falcon sedan delivery that was listed as an old Yellowstone Park car used from '65 to '89. It sold for $20,350 which includes the 10% buyers premium that the auctioneer gets. That means it was bid up to $18,500.

There was also a 1956 Ford Sedan Delivery which sold for $22,000 ($20,000).

    A 1921 Ford Model T Depot Hack went for $15,400 ($14,000)

The 1957 Buick Century was chopped and custom and sold for $77,000 ($70,000).

The 1976 Cadillac wagon was just there and not part of the auction but plenty of people walked over to look at it. Unlike most wagon conversions I have seen from the 1970s it was not a clamshell.

Yeah - on some vehicles the prices seemed way down from what I was used to seeing. Saw a real nice '57 T-Bird go for 'only' $30k...... 'only' - since they had been going in the $50k+ range.

There were some bargains around but plenty of head scratchers too... I guess that's what auction fever does to you. And of course adding that 10% premium can take away some of the 'bargain'.

Myself, I am glad to see that wagons are finally bringing some respectable money at auctions lately.
