Nice starting point, but I'd have to redo that front fairing. Very rough and amateurish. That interior is a perfect basis for doing damn near anything a guy could want to do!

I'd like to see a law passed that bans old cars from being turned into trailers, cars with two front ends, clown cars used in Shriner parades, etc. etc. etc.

Didn't someone on this forum propose the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Old Autos, or something similar in the past?

Sign me up. I'm in. :yup:

Lighten up Jim. You sound like a grouchy old man!
Looks like a good deal and a great buy to me. Lots of uses, especially behind a 55-57 Chevy.
This wagon may have been a wreck and not salvageable.

Ha! That's 'cause I AM a grouchy old man! At least, until I've had my 4th cup of coffee in the morning. :coffee: Then, I'm just an old man. :)

This guy needs the other 57 Chevy trailer and I need this 55 trailer. Some wives hate old cars and car projects. My wife is saying let's go get it! Even needing lots of work it's worth $600. Those rear tailgate cables and brackets are probably another $200. A wagon rear bumper is hard to find but one from a car will work for this.
I can just see it red with a white top and Cragars with narrow whites.

For all we know, it could have been smashed beyond repair.

But that front of the trailer's storage compartment does look like a hack job IMO

Front should be more rounded and the door flush mounted. Then it wouldn't look bad at all. Maybe a flush window in front like a van side window or RV window.

I'm only on my second POT of coffee. So beware! Personally I have to agree both with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Old Autos perspective and the "well it could've been a wrecked beyond repair" situation... But on that note, many of you know what I would do, given the chance, to a few old machines out there... but they would already be in bad condition anyways. Not gonna mess with something nice, only something that's already well on its way to what I would do in this first place. I don't care for the blue one and by this time the ad is gone so I have no idea what it looked like either.

They were both a good deal. Hope they get fixed up and used.
