Man. That is awesome. So crazy to think that at the moment that photo was taken that was the peak of technology.

Trying to narrow down the year from the Cormier Larrow Motors ad. I see they are listed as both a Valiant and Desoto dealer. So this must have been the end of 1959.
Although the presence of a 59 Lark on the list does throw things off a bit. I'd wager it was demo unit.

upload_2023-4-4_7-44-49.png It appears that used Fords cost more than new Chevys

    Back then, yup.

Dad paid a bit over $4K for his Fairmont the next year.

Wondering if there's ANOTHER connection with the 'Cormier' name......
In the Los Angeles Metro area, down in Carson, CA (near the LA Harbor area), alongside the 405 (San Diego) Freeway, in the mid to late 60's, a new dealer came to town - Cormier Chevrolet. And they didn't start out 'small'. It seemed almost right away they had a big new dealership building (and another new one since then), a huge inventory, and lots of advertising on radio and TV. Sold A LOT of cars. Didn't follow what happened to them since we moved to Oregon, but the dealership is now known as 'Chevrolet of Carson'

I'm not sure if I've ever seen cost per pound used as a metric to sell a car.
