My 60 Oldsmobile wagon is now for sale, I traded it in on the car I was looking for prior to purchasing the Olds. I finally found a 1960 Edsel Villager in really good shape, it's been inside and unregistered since 1969, took me 5 years to find one this original and untouched. The Olds is in Hemmings, was trying to get 5k for it.
OH MY! Congratulations. You have one of only 275 1960 Edsel station wagons built - 216 6-passengers and 59 9-passengers.
Wow, that is awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing more of the Edsel. So, is the Olds gone? Or is it still for sale?
The Olds is for sale, the body is ok but the car is sitting on a 4X4 chassis and that seems to kill any interest I've had in the car from potential buyers. The interior being roached doesn't help. The wagons are hard to find in this body so hopefully someone will have interest in it like I did.
It's one of the 6 passenger models, has some nice options, the 352, 3 speed cruise-o-matic, power steering and power brakes, it's a real early production date as well, 09/16/59, third day they were produced. The coolest thing is just how untouched the car is, cars like this are very hard to find.
That Edsel was built three years before my sister was born. It does look gorgeous, though. Obviously, there wasn't a drafty barn and six tons of crap stacked on it in its past. As far as the Olds is concerned, IMHO, I'd like to see you at least get it on a rolling chassis, even if it's not the original. Then part out the 4X4 drive train and cut up that frame for scrap.
