Hello to everyone, I would like to ask you what car had family of main character Susie in The lovely bones movie. I tryied to find it via google and I think its 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass, but I am not sure. Thanks for answers and please excuse my bad english. Best regards from Czech Republic.
Welcome. We don't watch movies so can't help. Do you have a station wagon? If so tell us about it and yourself.
If the wagon you pictured is the one in the movie, then yes, it is an Oldsmobile Cutlass. I've never heard of that movie myself. Just to expand a little, there is a second version of the Olds Cutlass wagon. It has a 5 inch longer wheelbase, and view (roof) windows over the second seat. It's called the Vista Cruiser (1972 model shown) EDIT: Just confirmed. Just caught a glimpse of it in a clip of the movie. You are correct - Olds Cutlass wagon, probably '71 or '72. (This type is most commonly called a 'flattop' or 'flat roof' as opposed to the Vista Cruiser. These days, you don't see too many 'flat roofs' around....
to CatModelT : Hi friend, thanks a lot for welcome me here. To yout question. I have no station wagoon .... yet Till last Friday (when I saw that movie) I was fan of fifties Cadillacs. Especialy 1956 and 1959. But last week I discovered a beauty of early seventies station wagoons. So I am sure I buy some. I fel in love with that 1971 Olds Cutlass Station ... so I hope I find some.
to Krash Kadillak : Hallo there, thanks for answer. You wrote that 1971 "flattop" Cutlass is dificult to find today. Do you have some idea how much it should cost today. If it is possible to find some off course. I dont know how much rare the !flattop" is.
A nice 'Flat top' Olds Cutlass could be anywhere from $3,000 to $10,000 depending on condition and equipment. Oldsmobile made that model from 1968 through 1972. It should also be noted that the other General Motors divisions (except Cadillac) also had their versions of the same wagon. I'll show some examples: Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu: Pontiac Tempest/LeMans Safari (This one has a rare 'Endura' front end option, that makes it look like a GTO) - model year 1972 Buick Skylark (1969) (The Buick was also available in the extended length version with roof windows like the Oldsmobile. Their version was called the Sportwagon)
