They should wear their seat belts, if it weren't for his expert driving skills it could of been tragic when that tire blew. A belt would keep the brat from leaning on the back of the front seat and bothering him too. At least the spare has a whitewall.
Here's a bit of trivia for all you station wagon lovers. Thomas Tryon, the author of Harvest Home, was an actor previously. He co-starred in I Married A Monster From Outer Space with Gloria Talbot in 1958. He's driving a Plymouth station wagon. How about that pretty Impala wagon? Only three years old and it looks ready for the bone yard. Looks like someone broke a piece out of the bottom center of the grill too.
I was laughing at how ungainly the wagon looked as it trudged along that dirt road. And I loved how they skipped all the lowering the tailgate and hoisting the spare tire out, when he's done with the jack, he just throws it on the backseat floor. And yeah, the grille is busted out in some shots and fine in others. Oops! Guess the continuity folks never figured a bunch of station wagon nerds would be critiquing their celluloid masterpiece 35 years later! David
Yep. Made for TV by NBC, if I recall correctly. Features Michael O'Keefe in a minor role a couple of years before he played Danny Noonan in "Caddyshack."
