The only badly worn area on my 92 Roadmaster's interior was the steering wheel, it has the tan leather interior and most of the color had worn off the wheel. I had seen the covers by Wheelskins and found them at a very good price during the X-mas promos. So I gave it a try and am pleased with the results, not as good as a new wheel but looks nice. The color I bought was called sand and blends in ok. It is slow lacing them on but with a beverage and some tunes went just fine.
I couldn't find a leather version that would fit the wheel of my 1989 Ford...so I got one from a VW parts place. The color matched, but I had to trim it down and resew it together to make it fit. Not a lot of 1980s and 1990s parts as the dealers dropped their inventory and the resellers inventory is down also.
If the only issue is the color, http://www.vinylpro.com/ can make SEM paint to match in spray cans. The Universal Color Coat is compatible with leather and vinyl. The cost for a single can is somewhat cost prohibitive, because of the lab fee of $25 to match the original color. If you need to refresh more than just the steering wheel, you can spread the cost of the lab fee over a couple or more cans. There used to be a NAPA locally that would make paint for me, but they did not get enough business to continue. If you are in a big city, check with NAPA paint stores, they may still have the capability. If you are new to the 91-93 Roadmaster, be careful of the horn buttons. They are easy to break. I figured out how to fix them, at least temporarily. So, if you happen to break one, let me know, and I can walk you through the repair.
wrap I am ok with the color not perfect but good enough and feels nice to the hand, so I am happy. That is one fine 91 Olds you have there, I almost got a 91 white Olds with no wood, but the owner decided to keep the car. I like the fender skirts and the rug on your wagon, I have a Mexican blanket with the eagle and snake symbol in the back of mine. Sounds like you did a lot of engine upgrades? I have researched swapping my L05 for a LT1, but seems like this is not usually done due to re-wiring the car? I would like more power but at 90K miles the current engine runs perfect. Where did you get those skirts??
