I wrap christmas presents better with one hand behind my back than the upholstery is on the door.

The ad says the interior is mostly/all original. He also says the rest of the car was in excellent shape when they started. Paint, wheels, air ride suspension, and a rebuilt engine don't cost $150k. No undercar pics to tell what kind of "frame off" restoration it was. It does look nice.

That is a nice looking build. Rims aside. That is a checkbook restoration. Not hard to get over 100k when someone else is doing all the work. Lots of chrome and lots of nice tight details. Look at the hinges and finish work in the tailgate door ip opening and hardware. Engine bay is pretty tight. If the underside looks like that.....

It is a nice car. No doubt about that and it is true that if the only tool you know how to use to restore a car is a checkbook then yes it does get expensive fast. But I think he needs to hold onto this thing for quite a while longer. I am not intimately familiar with the 1960 Ford Galaxie Country Squire market, but I am pretty sure I haven't seen even the nicest examples selling for even half of what he is asking. Even nice real wood woody wagons can be had for less than his price.

Most of us are guilty of over restoring our cars. When you sink that kind of money into them, you have to plan on keeping them.

Some try to make us think that.
No doubt people get more involved in old cars and keep tossing money into them. I like everything about that wagon except the wheels. That knocks $120.000 off my offer.

Tepid bidding so far - seller will probably have this one a long time.

It's those big ole low rider wagon wheels I tell ya. Put some nice 14" Ford rims on there and it'll bring big bucks.

Not necessarily over-restored, but certainly over-paid.

Most likely shill bidding since the reserve isn't met. Probably had some buddies bid on it.
