I was reading about a product called Plasti Dip and wondered if anyone had used it or some other rubber dip to restore the hood bumpers/set bolts. They're used to set the height when shut.

    The bumper looks like this:

I need the material for other places on the car, and some tool grips that are getting shabby, so I figured I'd try to use this on my old, cracked hood bumpers. They need about 3/16" of rubber on top on the steel head.

This looks like a neat product. I going to ask around to see if anyone has used it before as this is the first time I hear of this product.

    I outdid myself this time!

When I was in the Forces, we used a rubber sealant to cover special wiring junctures through the sheetmetal pass-throughs, so I thought I'd look in my Princess Auto catalog, and Bingo! A product called Grote Anti-Corrosion sealant. Off I went and found it, but I also found that they carry Taillight lenses, wiring connectors, headlights, fog lights, etc. They make them!

    Princess Auto is everywhere (almost):

AND they're in Canada, Mexico and the US! Use the 'Where To Buy' menu to find retailers:

I'll have to go and see if it's the same stuff (rubbery) as I knew in the Army:

I think Canadian Tire sells the tail light lenses.
