There's definitely fewer of the cars on the road than there were in the '80s and '90s, but I don't know if that would qualify this car as being 'rare'. I drove an '84 Corolla 4WD wagon like this one as my winter car for a couple of years in the early '90s. It had an automatic transmission with push-button 4WD. It was great to have during heavy snow storms, back when in the days before global warming and we actually got heavy snow storms in this part of the country. $3,950 seems a bit high, but maybe the interior of the car is in pristine condition. Too bad the seller didn't include any pics of the interior.
Haven't seen one in some time, but I wouldn't call it rare. At the price he's asking, a good polish and wax of the paint would be nice. Anyone else notice the upper radiator hose with four clamps on it?
I thought it funny that when these came out, they were not the same wagon body as the 'regular' FWD Corolla wagon - maybe some similarity in the chassis, but every one of the body panels is different. I think the 4WD wagon here may have been based on a model called 'Sprinter' in Japan? Kinda/sorta like when they sold RWD and FWD Corollas side by side here in N.A. for a while.
All the All Trac Toyota vehicles were produced in Japan, they made all wheel drive versions most of their cars, but KK's right many were only available in Japan. Toyota made an all wheel drive version of the of the Camry in wagon form.
RARE Wagon Hi I'm the guy who posted this ad in the Pittsburgh craigslist. First of all, let me clarify my use of "rare" in my ad. If you do a search this model for sale in the USA, there may be one or two available of this date. Second, Living in the northeast and where rust is very common, this model is very rare in the condition that it's in. Third, can any of you tell me how many of this model was imported to the US? If you can, then let me know. My guess is that none of you know. As far as the extra hose clamps on the radiator hose, I have no idea. The previous owner did this. As far as the price goes, I may sell it to someone that really wants one of these or not. Can't blame a fella for tryin'. thanks
Thanks for chiming in. I just read this thread and it looks like there is some good information you could use to improve your ad.
Maybe this site could help on tracking down how many were imported? http://www.alltracwagon.net/forum/
Thanks for the good info. Unfortunately, Craigslist doesn't allow more pictures than I already posted. If anyone's interested, I will take less form my wagon, and will email pictures of the interior on request. Thanks
