I had a similar experience when selling a car a couple of years ago. Was incredibly frustrating. We ended up selling it via facebook of all things.
That this has had a ridiculous amount of work done to it, it's hardly anything close to "stock" anymore. That's probably close to what it would cost to have a shop take a basket case and make one just like it.

Again $88k, but what if it had 56,000 miles on it? Still low mileage, but where are you gonna drive it? These cars blow me away. Although I’m pleased to see this bring that money vs the ‘96 Impala SS get to $100,000 cause it only had 28 miles on the clock.

Those have an OHV Opel 4-cylinder, pretty powerful for such a small vehicle. They had the ability to tow heavier aircraft, like the ME-262 jet fighter, as well as small antitank guns, back in the day.
