I have a 1960 comet wagon. I my fiance got it for me a year ago at the spring auto fair in Charlotte NC 2011. I saw it and fell in love with it!! I have worked on it little by little. My brother-in-law just rebuilt the engine. It has a 200 straight 6. I painted the valve cover and air cleaner pink! Ihope you guys love it as much as I do I have enjoyed looking at all of your wagons!!
to the wagon train, Mrs. Great intro with all the pix...we love pix here! Nice little Comet. Looks really solid! Sure wish I could have seen the valve cover and air cleaner, though...can't say I have ever seen them done in pink! By the way....you are wearing my shoes!
Can't wait to see that car all together and what other plans you have for it. It will be uniquely yours under the hood! I think I may like it when all done! The car really does look solid. I like the patina, too!
Welcome! I like the cross-hair fender ornaments. Maybe those make it easier to park? The '57 Ford wheel covers look stylish, too.
Thanks!! It is a solid car! I plan on keeping the outside of the car the same I love the patina but I want to fix the seats, door panels, and carpet. One thing at a one its very expensive lol.
Very nice wagon. Welcome to the forum! Just in case you haven't seen it, here is a link to a collector of auto brochures. Direct to the '60 Comet section. When you get to the main page, just click on each displayed brochure page to view it individually. http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/mercury/60com/60com.html Here's the main page for the whole website: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/broch1.html Glad to have you here! Mrsfomocofive0, you have great taste in cars, that is a sweet looking Comet you got there. The covers are very pink, kudos for making your own, with your own touches. Keep us up dated on your progress as they happen. You can start your own thread in the Cosmetic & Restoration Forum if you like. Hope to see you around the site.
Welcome to the forums. Kind of a rare wagon, I suspect. Very neat. It is fun to not have the same thing as everyone else. Personalizing our wagons is what this is all about. Just driving vintage wagons, or often just any wagon, already differentiates us from the herds. Keep up the posts on your progress, and don't let anyone tell you it has to be one way or the other, do it the way you like and enjoy it.
