not new to wagons! Hello, wanted to say Hi - I have been the proud owner of a 1965 Valiant Wagon for about 12 years. She was my daily driver at one point, and I am slowly working on restoration (I have a lead on some 64 Barracuda quarters that I can slice and dice). It's a Michigan car so there is a tad bit of rust here and there... Any leads on parts are always appreciated. -j9
Hi J9 welcome to the forum...love this picture... sticky arrows really help to point out the things you need... There wasn't any pointing to $$$ needed, must be out back on that money tree Great little wagon you got there 12 years that's longer then most marriages Good luck with your parts hunt...I'm in the same kinda boat(well land yacht) myself. Great to have another wagonette around the place.
to the wagon train, Jeannine. Nice Valiant. Your pals seem to enjoy it, too. That is one of the better descriptions of parts needed I've seen. I wouldn't know how to do that. It takes dedication to bring back a salt country car. KUDOS for saving that cool wagon!
Welcome to the forum Jeannine. I love your Valiant and thanks so much for posting pictures right away. You'll find we love pictures. I'm psyched we have another lady wagon lover on board.
Hello & Thanks!!! I'll be sure to put a "donations bucket" in the back when I'm out crusin'. The Woodward Dream Cruise http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/ is this weekend in Michigan. 30,000+ beautifully restored cars...and one rusty turquoise wagon - you can't miss me! My girls; Mushka (yellow dog) & Indy (black dog) look really good in the back seat!
Jeannine.........its always nice to have new members !!! btw......i love the color of your car !!!!! hope you find all your needed parts soon (and cheap !!!) nice little wagon you got there 82'cappy
Welcome to the forum, Jeannine. I'm kinda partial to those Valiant wagons myself, but I like the first ones...here's one not too far from you, fo sale in An Arbor: http://annarbor.craigslist.org/cto/2534721033.html You've probably already considered this, but I'll throw it out anyway - a parts car. This one's sort of 'spendy', but it's in Tuscon, which is where you want your parts cars to be from: http://tucson.craigslist.org/bar/2446749582.html Have Fun! Marshall
If the parts are the same on that Tucson 65 I would snap it up, Jeannine! Seriously. Hey...if you can't afford it you could always sell me the Rabbit!
silverfox: lol - If my Rabbit ever needs a new home you'll be the first to know! The 64 is not quite the same...but THANKS!!! I'll be looking into that wagon. 64 Barracuda and 65 Valiants shared many body parts. I picked up a 65 Valiant sedan last year...barn parked since 1995 (mouse skeletons everywhere - eeeek!) with all intention of using it for a parts car, but he's too darn cute and solid to cut up...other than the not running thing, plus he is a bare bones car. No radio, no ashtrays, no cigarette lighter, no back up lights, absolutly no bells or whistles - factory ordered that way. His name is George...and I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him.
