Hi everyone my name is Bill,i'am a retired former owner/operator of a performance/restoration engine machine shop. The wife and i moved to northern mi, built our retirement home and my new shop:2_thumbs_up_-_anima. I use to be in to early camaros and chevelles but sold them before moving. Back in 06 i found my current car a 1966 impala 6 pass wagon in cal. It has a 396/325hp and a 400 turbo with PS-PB-AC-power talgate window, split fold down rear seat, tinted glass. I bought from the original owner, its been repainted once back in the 80's and he had the lower front seat cushion re covered (dosen't match to good) but i'll take care of that soon. It still has the original T-3 headlights and the original windsheld. It had factory wheel covers and white walls so i put a set of old american racing wheels i had in storage for a long time and a set of BF Goodrich Firehawks on her and new carpet and that changed her looks alot. Its alot of fun taking her down state on the freeway runnin 75mph with all the new iron, people look like they seen ghost when i go by. I'll try and post some pixs Thanks Bill ( click on pixs to enlarge)
Very Nice! One of my Favorite Impala's (I almost bought one before my current project - 69 Nomad Wagon). Looks real good. Enjoy!
Welcome Bill. Looks like you have a very nice toy to play with. Seems like these wagons are beginning to turn heads and change how people feel about what to drive and play with. Lots of room and great ride. Sure beats some of those copycat 32 Ford coupes and others that seem to be everywhere.
Thanks everyone Thanks for the big welcome everyone! We have two big dogs so a wagon was a easy choice, camaro's are a little small for that. My dad had three wagons as i grew up a 62 Bel air,283 4brl stick, 65 Bel air 283 2brl auto, and a 67 impala 327 4brl auto.He hauled riders 120 miles a day round trip to work and back, plus there were 10 of us kids to haul around.I can see why theres not to many wagons left,he put over 150,000 on each one so there wasn't much left when he sent them to junkyard. I learned to drive with that 62,a 4brl and a stick what more could a kid want:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
