Did you know that Canada has been attacked many times by not only Americans but other nations, including Iceland and Denmark. Yet not one of our Partisan Political Leaders has ever encouraged Nationalism. They changed the flag and the national hymn. They built a railroad from coast to coast. They made us a bilingual nation, recognizing French as an official language and allowing schools to teach both languages, if there was enough people who wanted it. They brought back our Constitution from the Brits. That's it!

There is never anything taught, except to new immigrants, about some parts of our history. Many schoolboards won't teach or sing the National Anthem and they even cancelled 400 year festivities in Quebec, celebrating the formation of New France, last year, because they were scared of a political backlash!

What a disgraceful bunch of pirates! Shame on them!

I'm on the Whitehouse.gov mailing list. We don't even have one from our PM. I'm on the President of Mexico's mailing list too, to see what my retirement country is doing.

He just gets back from the G8/G20 conference here in Canada. And posted this message to Mexicans on all the media, not just his email service:
    http://www.presidencia.gob.mx/?DNA=103&page=1&Contenido=57877

Telling Mexican Citizens that Mexico will always defend itself, and believe it or not, there are some Asian and Middle East nations who have tried. Mexico just deals with it without fanfare.

But back to the G8/G20 hotair conference, where we looked like a battlefield - he actually spent 1% of the entire Canadian Afghanistan War effort since we've been there for the security of the G8/G20 leaders' two day visit. :taz: The last one in the US, cost 18 million, versus our 1.5 billion.

Disgustingly self-serving politicians in Canada are scared to death that Canadians would be passionate about our country, because they'd be forced to settle the original First Nations treaties and restore dignity and wealth to the First Nations people. They're rightfully scared that we'd want Referendum ballots and recall rights, and they'd be dead on correct about that, as far as I'm concerned.

There's even a movement to stop singing the National Hymn, because it has the word GOD in it.

I won't live in a dispassionate, cynical nation of silicone clothed technocrats who don't give a gnat's a$$ about its own people. We own 20% of the world's fresh water and our Prime Minister gives 16 lakes away to mine tailings, while over 2,000 boil-water orders are issued across the country, not just from flooding.

What got me really stirred up is a meeting here last week in our Province, which has the largest First Nations population of any Province, managed by the Federal and Provincial governments, where out of 149,000 first nations people, over 8,600 kids are handled by the provincial foster home service, and 286 died last year, because of poor care, abuse, murder, malpractice - and they are debating it?

When you figure that every person is generating over $2,000,000 in income and debt over their lifetime, that's a lot of loss, on a cynical basis. On a humane and human basis, it's just sick. People are paying fortunes to adopt foreign children and we've got a 3rd world foster care program???? No child deserves that.

We are not encouraged to feel proud of our nation. But neither should we be made to feel shame for the failure to do the right thing for our nation's future. We should just hang the morons in charge. We had this campaign in Canada to literally eradicate Aboriginal culture from aboriginals via these special schools run by Government and the major Churches and it became the organizers rape and pillage fiestas. Now we mistreat the children to death? Not in my Canada.:taz:

There, I feel better for shaming my politicians. :taz: NOT!

In addressing the first half of your post, Norm....all I can, sadly, say is....get used to it. The leading government in all countries are hell bent on a global economy and a global government. How did this happen you ask? I don't have enough time left in my life to write the answer so...in a nutshell...the world is run by power that far exceeds the lowly politician. We have all collectively lost our once great country. And we are screwed.

I found this on a thread concerning the G8/G20 nations yesterday:
    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/g8-g20/economy/the-7-trillion-challenge/article1618871/

I know we're run by corporate minions. So I vote daily with my dollars. I buy Canadian, American or Mexican first. I buy at the best value/price or used. Asia gets as little as possible - India, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Indonesia. Europe gets my appliance dollars once every 15 years, and power tool dollars every 5 or 10 years.

The second part is heart-breaking. The insult is that they are paying people to study the problem, and NOT doing anything in the short term to save the others. I'd pull the kids out on a camping trip and ask them how they're being treated, record it and send it to the media! Any bandaid solution to save the kids. Victims of a dysfunctional patriarchal system! Its embarassing at least, that we pay these people to mistreat and then report on how they did it, so they take a course in caregiving, which might take a year or two and earn them a pay raise, because they'd theoretically be qualified after 15 years of malpractice. Not one charge has or will be laid.

Anyway Mike, I'm a fan of Johnny Depp's Pirates of The Carribean, and I often include "Pirates of the Canadian" in my posts on the news blogs, when referring to ALL of our partisan politicians. They've legislated themselves in perpetuity. You need $1,000,000 to run as an independent Member of Parliament, just to register. The twist is, that unless the guy is registered, you can't donate to his campaign. If he is with a registered party, you still can't donate to his campaign. It goes to the National Party headquarters. So much for the little guy's vote. Probably why 40% of us didn't vote last time.

Yeah....corporations can give as much as they want to the candidate of their choice now in the USA. There are no elections of politicians, per se.......you simply buy them and install them. Nothing new here...just more visible. I wish I could tell you how incensed I am about the take over of my country and the world. But, as eloquent as I can be at times, I do not have the words powerful enough to express my anger. Much of my anger is directed at the people. Most just don't get it.

History is the best refuge in this mess. Assyria, Gone!, Greek Empire, Gone!, Egyptian Empire, Gone!, British Empire, Gone!, Roman Empire, Gone!

God loves chaos, not commercial order. This too will pass. I love the Discovery shows about animals and insects, because you find out that there are 1,000's of varieties of Ants, and Birds and distinct species. They get along. No global war or peace treaties. We're the screwups. :rofl2: And we have Dominion??? Masters of Self-Sabotage and we've got history to prove it! :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

You've pretty much got it nailed, Fox. We are seeing and living it every day. How sad that this has happened in our lifetimes.

I hear you, Mike. Its a sad painfull truth.
Refer back to my previous rant about the Federal Reserve. The bankers stole power from the politicians back in 1913 and we've been on this present course of disaster ever since.

    ok here one:
    http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-2630.html

there will be always some one that don't like what there politician doing for or against them but they surely don't want to move to another country do they.
so they get on there soap box and want to tell how this sucks or that sucks but most of them will not run for office.
they say like how this is bad and they need something better but they don't go out in the real world and do some thing to make it better.

most place's have a NO POLITICS OR RELIGION ALLOWED for reason.

Most places don't because most people haven't lived long enough to see both sides of the street. The politico/religious damage made by these groups, to the people they lead. We're looking back and realizing that we got snookered into a faceless system that uses a horserace election, where the track always wins, and the horses die young. People are getting hurt, because of bad political systems.

I'm not promoting one party or another, I'm saying we're losing children because a broken system isn't doing its job, and there's no way for joe-blow to shake them into action and prevent the people in charge from destroying more young lives.
