    Hi! I'm new here...
I know it sounds corny, but my family went on road trips, skiing in NH, and our 72' Dodge Monaco wagon took us everywhere- it was, in my mind, as much a part of the family as our pets..And when the Monaco 'died', I was upset-I wept...
My folks bought the car new in 72' when i was 4, and it died in 84' when I was 16....I miss that old car...

Since then I've been interested in the cars of my youth- the late 1960s-late 1970s, in particular, station wagons.
Station wagons were THE quintessential baby boomer/generation X era family car, and it always puzzled me how so many car buffs took minimal interest in station wagons...

I haven't seen another 72' Dodge Monaco station wagon since the 1980s- I assume they must be very rare- was it a limited production? It was a gorgous car- black leather seats, hideaway headlamps..

Welcome to the forum! I think that the majority of us had a Wagon as a part of our childhood, and I guess it got us the way we are now! I know it did for me!

Ahh yes,the Dodge wagons with the airliner fuselage bodies!..Another reason to have won the Lottery allready. I've seen a few for sale at SoCal Car Shows, during the last decade or so.But not in the papers, magazines or on the streets. They're rare here too.

Our Monaco had nice leather seats...Before we even drove it off the lot in '72, I managed (as a 4 year old) to chew a hole in the leather on the inside of one of the doors...My mother was less than happy...
