So, as a few of you know, I've purchased an '89 Colony Park wagon, needing an engine. I've come up to Washington State yesterday, to get the replacement engine put together and swapped in place of the noisy, knocking engine. With help from my friends, we worked from Wednesday through to yesterday, working around a business that graciously allowed the use of their tiny bay to accomplish all this. So it runs but the power steering pressure hose leaks badly. I'll get that swapped today or tomorrow, and finish putting the door panels and armrests back together before the Leadslead's and I leave out for our trip down US 89 and points East.
Good luck on your trip home. And as stated hope your drive is uneventful. At the risk of sounding corny, would love to see some pictures of the new CP, and the ‘66 breezeway in route home.
There will be photos, including on Historic Route 66, just as soon as we get home. But, a couple photos to whet everyone's appetites: The T-bird was at a gas station at the South end of Grand Canyon, but no 'FOR SALE' sign on it.
Hey if you are heading through Albuquerque would love to buy you birthday lunch at a kitchy restaurant on Central Ave., Ole rt 66. Might even drive down in an old car
Sorry I missed you all Andrew, but it was good talking to you on the phone. Looking forward to the stories from the road.
I would've loved to take you up on your offer; we tried to stop at a park for lunch, but we ended up on the 'wrong' side of town and beat feet before the homeless swarmed us like locusts.
Just the way it goes sometimes. I completely understand. Hopefully next time you're passing through we'll link up.
