Hi members - back from a long trip and had the tranny on the CP rebuilt while I was away (odom shows 138,000 Km = approx 85,560 miles). So far, so good - shifting smoothly and nice & quiet. The Virginia quake, a day after the Colorado one, was felt in my town and even up to Toronto, but no damage. Irene was also pretty good to my yard: some downed branches, but all trees standing and not a drop of water in basement or crawl. Have a couple of small fall projects for the wagon: a few areas requiring touch up, and a bit of etching/rustproofing in the spare well, as well as a good detail before the really bad weather sets in. Then when the snow hits, it'll mean only driving on dry roads. Meanwhile, the 5 year old Subaru is taking on rain water from somewhere under the dash and while parked in the driveway. Probably jealous of all the attention to the Colony. Getting that checked out tomorrow. A safe and happy fall season to all.

I had to get my CP's tranny rebuilt at around 50,000 miles. I got when it had 49K on it and had a complete tune up and various other maintenance things done, including a tranny flush; not a fluid change, but a flush. About 1000 miles after I had that done, the tranny went. The rebuilder told me it was mostly likely because I had it flushed and since the gaskets were sold old, it most likely tore them apart. He said that an old tranny that's never been flushed should never be flushed or that'll happen. I guess he must have been right!
