Please tell me im not the only one. Does it drive any other station wagon owners crazy when they call your car a hearse? I find it to be people of the younger generation who usually call it a hearse. I know a couple of guys here have to own a hearse so does it drive you crazy when someone calls your hearse a wagon? Just a small rant from me today :D

Never had that happen to me........

If it did, they would immediately get a response.

I could semi-understand it if your wagon was all black with no wood.

It's the younger generation, like my kids, who were born after wagons went away. I didn't realize until I brought
my caprice home a few years ago and my oldest asked " isn't that those cars they put dead people in?"
Then I realized her being born in 1997 really didn't know about wagons, they are growing up with mini vans and
SUV's. Now they know more about wagons so just remember to explain it to them because some young people
    truely don't know.

You think that's bad? I had my 66 Chevelle 4 speed all polished up and out for a drive. I pulled in to the gas pumps at a station, and some idiot on the other side hollered out "Hey, nice Chevette".

Maybe he just looked at the name and misread it. "Chevette" and "Chevelle"...

    Cheve--e...

Yep. Like how the term "The Hop" isn't used these days for places for people to dance at. (If anyone's wondering how I know about it, I heard a song called "Life Begins At The Hop" which was penned in the late 1970s.) or, "Mom, What's a telegram?" I also didn't know about the dial-a-song on a telephone service that existed in the 1980s until I read someone talking about it online.

No one has EVER mistaken mine for a Hearse! Lol. I mean, there are distinct differences.

A Hearse is a station wagon, but not all station wagons are Hearses!

Off subject a bit, but here's one for you: In the student union of my undergrad college, (while visiting a few years after I graduated), I saw what looked like a first-year student walk up to an in-house phone that was still rotary dial. He picked up the receiver to place a call, but then just stared at the dial; seemingly clueless as to how to "dial" the number he wanted to call. :slap:

Back on-subject, no I hadn't had anyone call my wagon a hearse, but one comment was, "Gee, you sure could fit a lot of bodies in that thing!" Creeped me out, so I just went on my way. Most of the time, people referred to my wagon as the "Brady Bunch mobile". :yup:

When I was in High School a lot of people refered to the Fury as either a Hearse, or as "The Ghostbuster-mobile"
I found both to be annoying.

    :slap:

There was a gal in high school who had an LTD II wagon, painted white with brushed-on black 'accents,' which we nicknamed 'Space Shuttle.' After riding with her once, I knew why. "You wanna take the regular way or the fun way?" "The fun way." I thought it was just going to be twisty back roads. Well, it was that...with a 12-foot jump because the road dipped steeply! We Launched, and BOOM! we landed!

Common knowledge one day, But utter confusion to some people who just don't know.

Oh and now it's raining here. How nice. (Rather off-topic but I do like rain.)

A Hearse is a hearse of course!

It's hard to believe but even my red and white 1955 Chevy wagon with various custom wheels has been called a hearse for as long as I've owned it. But I actually like that better than "oh nice Nomad."
    I say No it's a handman wagon.....' NO that's really a Nomad!" Grrrr.:banghead3:

And age has nothing to do with it. Old people call it a hearse or Nomad.
If things go as planned my ashes will be carried in the back so I suppose it's a hearse of course. Hopefully that won't happen this week!

Never had the hearse reference...... tank, boat, gas pig, but never hearse.

    BTW, Nice Nomad, Cat:rofl2:

Compliments come from 2 age groups thought, Older than me folks that remember them when new and I can't count the many times driving in a parking lot and hearing some thing to the effect of "Dad, look at that cool car" to then turn my head and see a small kid pointing at my car and the dad shaking his head in discust
