I love the freedom of creativity that is involved in building a rat rod. Very cool car!

    Rat Mad

Where do I start? At first I was mad and upset.:( Now I am No Mad because obviously they started out with a junk 57 Nomad and built a really Kool wagon. Makes me wonder if it wasn't a 150 handyman wagon. Notice the cheaper dash inserts?
I like the air cleaner and grille.
I was surprised by the two cops pulling along side, lights and sirens going, then they just went on.:thumbs2:
My only question is how do they keep that Chebby cool?

No Nomads were harmed in the making of that video - or that rat rod. That was your ordinary, run-of-the-mill 4-door '57 Chevy wagon.

Hey there is no such thing as a run of the mill 57 Chevy wagon.:49:
But by the looks of the door cracks I sort of assumed it started life as a 4-door handyman wagon.
I have mixed feelings about Rat Rods. Some have a lot of neat ideas and actually run and operate safely. While some like a friend's Model A are just death traps waiting to fall apart....which happened to his with his son driving it. Can't remember how bad he was hurt or worse.

I get enough unwanted attention in my wagon in its original (restored) state however I think that with this car the driver wants the attention.
Interesting car though but hard on the ears.

None of my cars have ever been good enough to go to shows. That never stopped us from taking them. Besides for what they charge to enter most are happy to see us.
I still like rat rods but dislike patina, stop signs for floors, and toilet seats for seats. Altho an old rural mailbox for an aircleaner is kool. :bouncy:

I also love rat rods. Years ago when I obsessed over my cars night and day I had a mind set that a sweet car must be clean and straight. I would panic over a water mark. Now, I would love to build something outrages and fun and not worry about polishing everything all the time.

You can still build one like that. They don't have to be rat rods. I call mine drivers and they've seen a lot of water marks and mud.
Too many people try to build show cars and trailer queens. They cost far too much and are not really fun after a trophy or two.

Look at my signature picture. Out on the sand and getting salt water splashed all over it.
