I am going to do better pics as soon as the rain stops here lol. Which who knows when that will be. I will be putting together a big book of pictures. I will have to start a thread in Resto. Thanks for the idea. As for a name it was going to be Audry but after driving her all weekend I have changed it to Lola. Which I think fits her way better
Thank you!!! I just adore her. Did a total break bleed, oil change and new wipers in the rain yesterday but totally worth it.
YO Alli. Contact Truck World Auto Salvage in Gerber, Ca. (south of Reading) They say they have a '78 donor Volarie in their yard that might just yeld your interior. Hey, Might even have the gas cap still on it? 877-878-2590---free call to, win win, Jer
Your welcome for the idea. My sister calls her car Lola...love it! Be thankful for the rain, we're expecting more snow!
We had a pretty good snow 2 weeks ago. Glad that its gone. I think im going to take her to a friends house this weekend and park her in the shop. Give her a good cleaning. She needs it.
In your travels through salvage yards, there are 2 things to pay particular attention to. First, if there is a wagon, and the tailgate rubber is good, grab it. It seems that the weather stripping for the gates is rather like hen's teeth, and it doesn't seem to matter much which wagon you are talking about. The other is if you come across any 1980 Volare or Aspen, and it doesn't matter about the body style. Get the front inner fenders. 80 was the only year for them, and they protect the fender tops. Without them, anything kicked up by the wheels scours the underside, and they rot from the inside out.
Hi all, Sorry its been a bit. Took the car to the shop last week and found out the break master cylinder had a huge hole in in, and the carb had a big old leak. Will be picking her up Thursday. Cant wait to have my girl back. Then I can get some good pics!
