How do you remove original woodgrain vinyl

    I've got a 1981 AMC Concord. The woodgrain vinyl is pretty much shot and needs to be removed. Just wondering what is the best method for removal of this material without messing up the paint below.

    3M's Decal remover. You might try a heat gun before you do that, and use the 3M stuff on tough spots. It's a patience job, so get a cow milking stool.;)

    I started on the rear q-panel with a pin-stripe eraser wheel, It works pretty good, but it will take forever to do the whole car. Plus I'll probably use 3-4 wheels to do it all.

    Just looking for a shortcut from others who may have tackled this effort.
