    Dear readers,

I'am want to know how do you call the strips/aluminium around the
"wooden" panels on the side and back of my 76 Gran Torino Squire Wagon?
I'll want to try to make it brand new again, because there scratches and other demaging on the "woodyvinyl", maybe I try to wrapped it over with vinyl (3M-dinoc) so as I want to do also with the woodypanels.
I'm a signmaker/signwriter and working a lot with vinyl voor carwrapping and signing so I'll can mount/wrapped it over!
Maybe it is possible that the "woodystrips" new be produced in your country, so i'll can buy them!
But therefore I'll want to now, how do you call this strips?

Please can someone help me for a good answer.....
Greatings from the Netherlands and sorry for my english writing!

I don't think the new "wood strips" are available or reproduced but someone may know more.

You may be able to cover them with vinyl quite well since you are in the buisness but several here have been real good at painting them with simulated wood grain.

    It's a nice looking Gran Torino.

Nobody makes these anymore. They are called moldings or for British search engines, mouldings. woodgrain or simulated woodgrain.

If you plan on doing them yourself, the original mouldings are much lighter than the woodgrain on the body.

I just wish i had a big room with Huge Chandeliers to take pictures of my cars in!!!!

I thought i read here or somewhere else that someone in the forum will rework the moldings. I could be wrong.

Contact Tom (username: To 5.0) here on the board. He did a beautiful job with woodgrain/vinyl on the moldings of his 1990 Ford LTD. From where in the province of Brabant are you? (I'm from Buicxtel :rofl2:)

It's been a bit of work.Especially since I had to go around the car and check on all the stuff a now disreputable fix-it shop had done...Right now regular maintainance is the big chore.
