Does anyone here practice guitar, bass, keyboard, etc... ? If so you'll know what I'm talking about. I always preferred to practice to tapes because I can stop it, cue forward and back just a little, not having to worry if it's going to start the song all over or who knows what. Now that more of my stuff is on CDs it's been such a pain. It seems CD players are just made to play a song and walk away. So does anyone know of any CD player (current or from the past) that has a quick and easy to use pause, cue forward, and cue backward? Something with some good solid buttons you can reach for when you need to pause and repeat a part? Or cue up to the part you are working on?
Whats a CD? Whats a Tape for that matter? Go digital, step into MP3 and MP4 and you can even do it on your computer with headphones or a bluetooth headset. I am 38 and I change with the times, if you dont change, you might as well be Amish and drive a horse and buggy, because the world sure is not gonna wait for people who refuse to evolve. All my music is either on my laptop, which I transfer to my cell phone or some of it is on my MP4 player(which I never use anymore) and my MP4 and cell phone will even play videos. To use them in the car, I have a FM modulator that I just turn on, tune the stereo to a selected station that is not locally in use and have all my music with me on the road. I have not used a CD in about 8 years and a cassette in shoot, 15+ years now. Infact, can you even buy cassettes anymore and if you can, WHY?
Wagonman ask Xavier he does a lot of playing and recording especially. I think Scott is right however the digital medium is now far superior. The stopping and starting and back and forth is done effortlessly.
Not sure I will be much help but... As far as a CD player goes I am at a bit of a loss. None of my music is on CD and the only CD player I have is in my car. I do use an MP3 player. A Sansa Clip: http://www.sandisk.com/products/sansa-music-and-video-players/sandisk-sansa-clipplus-mp3-player Amazing player! Great sound and perfectly simple. I have a 4GB one and I won't own any other kind of player. Great sound. They don't really cost that much, they come with all the things you need. It is plug and play so there is NO downloading. You can find them pretty much anywhere except walmart. As for editing my music, Zoe found this program online that is free and simple enough to use. Ironically it is called Free Audio Editor. Aside from that I don't know that I could be much more help. Hope that this does help though. Good luck finding what you need.
The control you are asking for is called "jog" and it is found on DJ equipment. Here is an example: http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-Pro-PDCD204-Mount-Professional-Player/dp/B003P17CQG
