Well Lisa, if it were my wagon, I'd drop it aboout 2 inches all the way around. No bags, they make for a crappy driver IMO. a set of wheels, nothing bigger than 16" (I cant stand the big wheel look, plus in a few years when the fad dies you have to ditch them or your car looks dated). stroke the 5.0 liter to 347 (or if you just gotta go fast stroke a 351W from a truck I think thats good for 394 CI). steal a 5 speed set up from a fox body car and convert it (this is the tricky part). Get the rear ratio to about 3.90 (I have no idea what Ford uses now adays, but a fox car could solve this problem too). I might keep the wood grain cuz nothing is cooler than a sleeper, but........... a 10 foot deep paint job with a visit to a tasteful pin striper (a homage to your ink) and you would have a exceptionally unique wagon. Add some tint to the panel windows, limo black, and 25% in the rear window.

Oh man I am out of control again.

Oh BTW I have to say a girl into cars is awesome! A girl into wagons is something I never thought I'd see, so I cant say how impressed I am.

Thanks for the responses! My first order of business is to replace the transmission. After that I have some cool (and cost effective) plans on customizing the exterior. I can't wait to show ya'll what "Cruizerella" will look like when I'm done! Have a wonderful day! Wagons Rock!

Looks like a solid wagon, LMD. A good clean up and it would be a winner. Keep us posted with your custom ideas.

Welcome Lisa. I have the same car but a year older in light blue. :Welcome:

When our Ford-cr_ptastic transmission went we got a Jasper because it is a professional (police, fire, ambulance) transmission and can take the load and wear. If you are keeping the car, consider it. We kept ours, and it was worth it! The price wasn't at that time any different than another Ford transmission that may or may not last another 70K miles. Either way- when you replace the tranny, make sure that it shifts smoothly and reverses without jerking. The low shift from 2nd to 3rd is important. If it jumps or jolts a little, you need to get the engine linkage adjusted, or it wasn't installed properly.

Good luck and enjoy that floaty-Ford ride!!!

    Cruiserella--great name. I'm lovin it.
Nice Squire, Lisa Marie. Enjoy it; I'm glad it went to somebody like you who really loves it. I say keep it stock, but something tells me you've got some outrageous plans for her. Keep us up to date.

Hey everyone! Just got the transmission rebuilt and as of yesterday, Cruizerella is back on the road. I finally found a good mechanic who is not just trying to rip me off. I'm so happy! I've decided not to keep her original look, so stay tuned for some exciting changes to come! Have a wonderful day, Ya'll!

She's too young to be a mean stepmother. Now the car... well... :D

Get a mean lookin' grille on her, and maybe Steve_E-D to do up a "Cruiserlla' nameplate that you can cast in plastic and chrome-paint it! :biglaugh:

Good for you and the mechanic. (y)
