Adam and Kirstin here from Wheaton Illinois. We are in the process of building a Country Squire "Wagonqueen Family Truckster" from the movie "National Lampoons Vacation". We have done 100's of hours of research on the movie and what little photos that are on the web. Here are some pics of our progress....When we are done, our goal is to have people see this car at a show and say "THIS HAS TO BE THE REAL THING" We have close to 350 hours in the front end and still another 100 hours if not more to go. We have cut it apart 3 times and now we think we have it. I have lots more to share about this car and how we know the Transportation Director from the movie that bought the last remaining car from Vacation and gave us the original crown and paint chip from the car....well enough for now, here are some pics.......
Welcome to the forums . That sure will be an interesting and unique wagon once it is done. Good luck with the project. Please keep us updated with your progress. You can upload pictures to the member's gallery by following these instructions. http://stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10
Wow, that looks like it's alot of work. You've got some real talent. Good luck with the rest of the build!
Thanks. The hard part is only having the movie to do research on the car. Thanks and I will keep everyone updated on progress.
I have 2 threads going on this. Here are the newest pics. I am very pleased on the results at this point.
For some reason my computer won't display your pics....oh well. I've wondered what Ford Motor Company thought of the Truckster.
You can take a look at them in the gallery http://stationwagonforums.com/forums/gallery/browseimages.php?c=62
wow thats totally obnoxiosly cool,,,,i would love to have that in my driveway just to piss off my neighbors,,, never mind i do that enough already
You don't already have enough to piss off the neighbors? The Truckster is kind of outside your preference already noting you have three great GM wagons and an El Camino. Ha!
Wow I'd forgotten how hideous they made that car look in the movie. But it's cool to see one being built, looks like you guys are not leaving out any details.BTW,I never noticed the movie car had greenwall tires.Don't forget the gascap on the hood and the double tail lights too!Get it built and do a cross country trip in it,just don't hold up any one w/a BB gun!
