I just found the Forum, and couldn't be more thrilled! I have been a wagon fan for a long time. I have owned, over the years, a 1960 Falcon, a 1966 Caprice Classic, a 1985 Country Squire, and presently drive a 1988 Colony Park LS. All but the Falcon had 'wood.' Oh, yeah. Back in the day, I had a few VW type 2s. If you want to call that a wagon. I need a practical car, because I also own two Pontiac Fieros. Heres my current driver: I get compliments wherever I go with this car, followed by [stop me if you've heard this] "We had one of those when I was a kid. Why'd they ever stop making them, anyway?"
PineBox? Engenders all kinds of images. Wouldn't have a 1958 Imperial Hearse around, eh? Welcome aboard, especially with a gorgeous wagon like that... AND ... It's a Ford!!! Oh man, you'll score bigtime with a few folks here!
The Holy Grail of wagons, for me anyway, would be a 1968 Olds Vista Cruiser, Or maybe a Packard. But in the real world, you just can't beat a Ford for reliability and ease of service. As Clyde Barrow was rumored to have said in a letter to Henry Ford: "Dear Sir: - While I still have got breath in my lungs I will tell you what a dandy car you make. I have drove Fords exclusively when I could get away with one. For sustained speed and freedom from trouble the Ford has got every other car skinned and even if my business hasen't been strictly legal it don't hurt any thing to tell you what a fine car you got in the V8 - Yours truly, Clyde Champion Barrow " The man knew what he was talking about. Oh, and I'd LOVE to have a '58 Imperial. Or DeSoto.
I wonder if Henry ever used that notorious recommendation in his advertising? It could have shifted all the Prohibition Caddy drivers to Lincolns!!!
...Pinebox?!?!?!...now thats comedy!!!...haha well seeing that you had that many Fords..you may stay!! just joking!!....come on...you wish you still had the Falcon...dont you?? Welcome to your new home...
